EV Car Expert ("we," "us," or "our") operates the evcarexpert.com website and the EV Car Expert mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Search and browse activity: When you search for vehicles, we may log search parameters (such as ZIP code, make, model, and filters) and listing views to improve search quality and product analytics.

Device and usage data: We may collect standard technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and general usage events (for example, screens viewed and errors).

Location: The mobile app does not access your device GPS. If you enter a ZIP code, we use that ZIP to show nearby listings.

Account information: If you sign in (website only today), we receive your name, email address, and profile information from your sign-in provider (such as Google).

Purchases: If you buy a report or listing package, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive order status and billing metadata, not your full card number.

Communications: If you contact us by email or through our contact form, we retain your message and contact details to respond.

Provide and improve vehicle search, Deal Scores, and reports.

Process payments and deliver purchased reports or listing services.

Send transactional emails (receipts, report links, listing reminders) when applicable.

Monitor performance, fix bugs, and understand product usage through analytics.

Comply with law and protect against fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data with service providers who help us operate the product, including hosting (Vercel), database (PostgreSQL), payments (Stripe), email (ImprovMX/Resend), and analytics providers. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.

Vehicle listings, photos, and dealer information displayed in the app come from third-party inventory partners and dealers. When you tap through to a dealer listing, their privacy policy applies.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics (such as PostHog and Google Analytics where enabled).

The mobile app does not use browser cookies. It may send anonymous usage events to help us understand app performance.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some site features may not work if cookies are disabled.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Search and analytics logs are retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form where practical.
